The Feldenkrais group classes this Autumn Season 2025 have the Theme ‘From your centre point!’. The practical information you can read down below.
The English spoken class is on Mondays at 5:30 PM in the Feldenkraiscentrum Utrecht.

Each group class is different because the new and unexpected activate your brain to come up with new solutions. I choose my lessons based on my observations from previous classes, ensuring that you feel personally addressed and challenged in the lesson. I have an inexhaustible supply of movements and sufficient experience to feel precisely which movement fits the moment to help you progress. Therefore, pain quickly ceases to be your motivation for participating; rather, curiosity about your own possibilities becomes your driving force.

You can take a three-class pass, allowing you to participate in three classes to try it out. You can also sign up for the full course of 20 lessons.

What Does a Group Class Look Like?

We begin the lesson by feeling the contact with the floor. This contact provides sensory information and helps you perceive precisely what you are doing during the movements. Between movements, we’ll always return to this position to observe changes.

We make unfamiliar, unexpected, often surprising movements. The unfamiliarity helps you listen better to what you are doing.

Constantly comparing movements left and right or before and after gives you the space to learn experientially, just as you learned to move as a child.

The words I use during movement stimulate sensing your movement in your bones and joints, creating a direct connection with your brain. This way, you can shift movement patterns that have become habitual. Often, these unnoticed habits are not functional and are the cause of problems.

While you move and feel, the movements change, and moving becomes easier. Often, the lesson gradually builds towards a recognizable, easier movement. Sometimes, we only do small, detailed movements.

By the end, you’ll surprise yourself with how you stand and walk: mostly lighter, steadier, or more fluid than you are used to, so much more in touch with yourself. After the lesson, you feel pleasantly comfortable in your body.

Autumn Program

In the spring season we have been working extensively on the feet, ‘Paying attention to your feet’. Every week was a new adventure, discovering how many different movements you can make in the foot. The result is more relaxation in and around the feet, more sensing in the feet and being able to give in more to the surface, making standing and walking more pleasant and much more balanced. Using the feet we started to invite mobility in the rest of the body. Altogether, it has become another beautiful series.

This coming autumn I want to explore the mobility of the trunk as a space to move and from there back in connection with the arms, legs and head, ‘From your centre point!’. There is so much more differentiation to sense in the trunk than that word would let you believe. And any movement you find will add more softness and lightness to all your movements, putting less strain on your joints. Since much of those movements also gives your breath more space I also want to use Moshe Feldenkrais’ movements with the breathing movements as a starting point.

Practical Information

Registration is for the entire semester or the remaining portion if you start later. Payment is made by transferring the specified amount before the course begins. If the course is full or does not take place, the money will be refunded as soon as possible.

The group lessons cost this semester:

  • A 325 € / B 375 € * for the 15 lessons

The cost per lesson is:

  • A: €23.10 / B: €26.25 *

A applies to a gross monthly income up to €1500.00
B applies to a gross monthly income above €1500.00

Class time in English: Monday from 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM at the Feldenkraiscentrum Utrecht, 1e Atjehstraat 1; first class on 01-09-25 and last class on 22-12-25.   There are no classes on 20-10 and 8-12-25

Cancellation policy: For these lessons, you owe the entire course fee from the moment you join, even if you drop out during the series. This means you pay for the entire series unless you clearly make another arrangement in advance with me.
